Winfred Omwakwe


Winfred Adah Omwakwe is the first dark delegate and first from the African district to hold the Miss Earth title. She was formally delegated as the new Miss Earth 2002 on 7 August 2003 at the Carousel Gardens in Mandaluyong City, Philippines. 

In a question and answer session, she was asked on her response to being the new Miss Earth and she answered: "I was dazed and couldn't trust it. Yet then I saw the salutary messages in my email and I got brings from everywhere. That is the point at which I was persuaded it wasn't a hoax"
